Overview
The original, this a month-long powder odyssey that concludes in the mystical depths of British Columbia, combining incredible powder riding, off-grid adventure, pro coaching and great people. Designed to help adventurous intermediate to expert skiers master the steep and deep of Canada, the highlight is a four-day hut-based touring retreat in Purcell Mountain powder fields.
Nestled in southeast BC, you’ll spend four weeks in the dramatic bowls and funky town of Fernie, boosting off-piste technique, mastering freeride skills and learning how to safely navigate backcountry terrain. With pro coaching from an expert team, plus avalanche clinics, touring workshops and guided cat-skiing, you’ll learn all the skills needed to gorge on the untouched backcountry descents you’ve dreamed of.
The trip highlight is a four-day stay at a remote backcountry lodge known as the Boulder Hut, only accessible by heli drop. With no connectivity, you’ll fully unplug and enjoy daily touring led by seasoned guides, beautiful powder snow and delicious, home-cooked food to fuel the adventure. Perfect for a sabbatical, places are limited to 24 people per camp. No prior touring experience necessary but a good level of intermediate skiing is required. For solo travellers, couples or small groups – you’ll share the experience with like-minded snow-fanatics and forge great friendships along the way.
You’ll love this course if: you’re looking to spend an extended period of time in the Rockies; you want to boost your off-piste skills and explore the British Columbian backcountry; you’re up for meeting a ready-made group of new friends.
